Greece Mainland: Travel Itineraries

Thermae Sylla Spa & Wellness Hotel | 7 nights from 1.290 € | Half Board!

The ancient Greek writers and philosophers praised the thermal springs, where the Nymphs offered the divine gifts of health, wellbeing, strength, and spirit invigoration. The Roman aristocracy invariably enjoyed their spa holidays in Greece, to benefit by both the nature as well as the spirit of the land.

With one of the best climates in the world, a unique variety of nature, as well as one of the healthiest diets in the world, Greece is an ideal proposal for psychological and physical health and for the pursuit  of well-being! Nature endowed Greece with springs with important therapeutic properties. Spas are part of the country’s national wealth, while their therapeutic properties were already known in ancient times.
Greece is one of the richest countries in the world in terms of natural spas. Thermal and mineral springs appear at 850 different geographical locations. Natural therapeutic springs are found in many different places and the water from specific springs differs from ordinary water due to its high temperature, or to the presence of rare active components.
In addition to revitalizing the spirit, the large number of mineral springs in Greece offers visitors an opportunity to receive treatment for chronic conditions in a natural way (hydrotherapy). Ailments like arthritis and rheumatic disorders have been treated from the ancient times but the therapeutical properties are much broader and benefit people of all ages.

Visitgreecenow has elected for you the best spa hotel options at a short distance from Athens, to benefit from the mild Greek winter with the ample sunshine and the therapeutic values of the natural hot springs.
Thermae Sylla Spa & Wellness hotel is located by the sea in the Spa city of Edipsos. The thermal waters of Edipsos and their healing qualities are well documented since ancient times, with the town rising in prominence during the Roman times when it became a favorite healing destination for the Roman aristocracy.

The mild weather of Edipsos and the therapeutic elements of the mineral springs make it an ideal location for a revitalizing and quiet vacation. The consistency of water contains numerous metallic salts and trace elements, mainly iron, calcium, magnesium found in the water at temperatures of 70-85oC, arising from natural thermometallic sources at a depth of 3.000 m.
Curing effects have been observed for rheumatologic issues, arthritis, motility diseases, chronic infections and general sufferings of the muscle-skeletal system, migraines, skin diseases and female gender-related disorders. The healing properties of the Edipsos thermal waters make it one of the most prominent spa destinations in Europe and the world.

The best times to visit Greece are spring and fall, says National Geographic Traveler magazine, because you'll find the best weather, blooming wildflowers and hotel availability. Fodor's adds that the sun is bright and the air invigorating during months like September, October, May and June. By contrast, summers are hot, with low humidity and July temperatures exceeding 100 degrees. Winters are mild, with average temperatures ranging from 55 to 60 degrees. But expect cold, wet, bleak days from November through February, says Lonely Planet. Rain is common during the winter, but snow is rare, so most locals wear light coats.
